relief for ReLeaf

Setting up shop at 666 Leonard St NW, cannabis dispensary Nature’s ReLeaf leapt into the restorative movement taking place on the West Side of Grand Rapids MI.

Spurred on by investment and revitalization efforts, this borough off the banks of the Grand River is undergoing a significant face lift. Looking to join this tight knit, renewing neighborhood, family owned and operatedG Nature’s ReLeaf needed an inviting interior that welcomed patrons of the West Side. Entrusting design firm Awaekn with the vision and seasoned shop Dispensary Design & Interiors with the build, Nature’s ReLeaf envisioned a retail space that would match the enterprising spirit of the Leonard Street community.

Well versed in design-fabrication partnerships, we took the vision from cannabis-centric creative firm Awaekn and got to work. The team started by constructing a layered 12-foot point of sale counter—replete with individual glass boxes and tiered product racks for complimenting visual display. Playing into the tasteful contrasting tones of stark black and warm wood, the shop created functional cabinetry, wall display and storage shelving that matched the artful vibe of the rising West Side. Accented with modern graphics, a drop ceiling checkered with custom tiles, and a playful pegboard backwall the finished Nature’s ReLeaf was sure to be a hit on Leonard Street.

Working quickly and efficiently, the team at DDI provided a complete millwork package in time for Nature’s ReLeaf December grand opening. “We developed a strong partnership with DDI from this project. Their attention to detail and understanding of Awaekn’s design truly brought our visions to life,” said Ally Goff, VP of Retail Operations, “With our on-site visit and continuous communication, they made it an extremely smooth process allowing us to focus on other operational needs. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome and are excited for future projects!”
